How it works

Choose a standard die or enter a custom number of sides, set the dice count and optional modifier, then select Roll dice. Presets change the settings without rolling. Advantage keeps the higher of two dice; disadvantage keeps the lower. The ability-score preset rolls 4d6 and drops one lowest die. Reset clears the settings and roll history.

Example

For 2d6 with a +3 modifier, dice showing 4 and 5 give a total of 12. For 4d6 drop lowest, rolls of 2, 4, 4, and 6 discard the 2 for a total of 14. Repeat the ability-score preset for each score your game needs.

Frequently asked questions

How are the dice randomized?

This tool reuses our random-number generator. It uses the browser's Web Crypto random values with rejection sampling to avoid modulo bias when available, or falls back to Math.random. Each die is independent, so repeated values are normal. This tool is for casual games, not regulated gambling.

What do d100, kh1, kl1, and dl1 mean?

NdS means N dice with S sides. d100 gives a value from 1 to 100, not 0 to 99. kh1 keeps one highest die, kl1 keeps one lowest die, and dl1 drops one lowest die. A modifier is applied once after the roll rule, and negative totals are allowed.
